Term & Condition
These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of Climbing Karakorum services and the booking of our trekking tours, mountain expeditions, peak climbing, base camp treks, and adventure travel experiences in Pakistan.
By submitting a booking request, making a payment, or participating in any of our tours or expeditions, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Booking & Reservation
- A booking is confirmed once the required advance payment has been received and confirmation has been provided by Climbing Karakorum.
- Availability of hotels, transportation, domestic flights, permits, guides, porters, and other services is subject to confirmation.
- Travelers must provide accurate information, including their full name, passport details, contact information, and other required travel documents.
- Travelers are responsible for reviewing their booking details and informing us of any errors before the trip.
- Certain trekking and expedition services may require advance or non-refundable payments.
2. Payment Terms
- An advance payment may be required to secure a booking.
- The remaining balance must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule.
- Certain services, including permits, flights, accommodation, and special transportation, may require payment in advance.
- Additional services requested after confirmation may incur additional charges.
- All applicable charges will be communicated to the traveler before confirmation whenever reasonably possible.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
- Refund eligibility depends on the cancellation date and the terms applicable to the selected tour or expedition.
- Payments already made to airlines, hotels, permit authorities, transport providers, or other third-party suppliers may be non-refundable.
- Unused services after the commencement of a trip are generally non-refundable.
- Where a refund is approved, applicable cancellation charges and non-refundable expenses will be deducted.
4. Changes to Your Booking
Travelers should inform Climbing Karakorum as early as possible if they wish to change their booking, travel dates, accommodation, transportation, or other arrangements.
Changes are subject to availability and may result in additional charges from Climbing Karakorum or third-party service providers.
5. Itinerary Changes
Mountain travel can be affected by conditions beyond our control. Climbing Karakorum may change or adjust an itinerary due to:
- Weather conditions
- Road closures
- Flight cancellations
- Landslides
- Snowfall
- Trail conditions
- Natural disasters
- Government restrictions
- Security conditions
- Other unforeseen circumstances
For trekking and mountaineering programs, routes and schedules may also be adjusted according to the condition of the trail, acclimatization requirements, and the safety of participants.
6. Weather & Mountain Conditions
Weather and environmental conditions in Pakistan’s mountain regions can change rapidly.
Delays, route changes, road closures, flight cancellations, snowfall, landslides, and other disruptions may affect the planned itinerary.
Additional expenses resulting from weather-related delays or extended stays may be the responsibility of the traveler unless otherwise agreed or covered by travel insurance.
7. Trekking & Mountaineering Risks
Trekking, mountaineering, glacier travel, peak climbing, and high-altitude expeditions involve inherent risks.
These may include:
- Altitude sickness
- Extreme weather
- Avalanches
- Rockfall
- Glacier hazards
- Falls and injuries
- Medical emergencies
- Difficult terrain
- Route changes
- Delays in remote areas
Participants must understand the nature of these activities and ensure that they are physically prepared for their selected tour or expedition.
Participants are required to follow reasonable safety instructions provided by guides, expedition leaders, and relevant authorities.
8. Travel & Medical Insurance
Travelers are responsible for obtaining suitable travel and medical insurance before departure.
For trekking and mountaineering activities, insurance should ideally cover:
- High-altitude trekking
- Mountaineering and climbing
- Medical treatment
- Emergency evacuation
- Helicopter rescue
- Trip cancellation or interruption
- Travel delays
- Lost or damaged baggage
Travelers should carefully review their insurance policy to confirm that their selected activities and destinations are covered.
9. Permits & Government Requirements
Some trekking and mountaineering destinations require permits, registrations, conservation fees, or government approvals.
Climbing Karakorum will assist with permits and formalities that are included in the confirmed package.
Travelers are responsible for complying with Pakistani laws, government regulations, local rules, and instructions from relevant authorities.
10. Transportation
Transportation may include private vehicles, 4×4 jeeps, local transportation, domestic flights, or other transportation depending on the selected itinerary.
Transportation schedules may change because of weather, road conditions, traffic, mechanical problems, flight operations, or other circumstances beyond our control.
11. Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided according to the selected tour package and availability.
Depending on the destination, accommodation may include hotels, guesthouses, mountain lodges, camps, or tents.
Facilities in remote mountain areas may be more basic than those available in major cities.
Room arrangements will follow the sharing arrangement stated in the confirmed package unless otherwise agreed.
12. Meals
Meals will be provided according to the confirmed tour package and itinerary.
During remote trekking and expedition programs, food choices may be limited due to altitude, weather, transportation, and local availability.
Travelers should inform us about dietary requirements or food allergies when making a booking.
13. Health & Fitness
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically and medically prepared for their selected trek, expedition, or tour.
High-altitude trekking and mountaineering can be physically demanding. Travelers should seek appropriate medical advice before participating in demanding activities.
Participants should inform Climbing Karakorum about any relevant dietary requirements, mobility limitations, or other requirements that may affect their participation.
14. Participant Responsibilities
Participants are expected to:
- Follow instructions provided by guides and expedition leaders.
- Respect fellow travelers, guides, porters, and local staff.
- Respect local communities, traditions, and cultural sites.
- Follow safety procedures.
- Protect the natural environment.
- Avoid behavior that could endanger themselves or others.
Climbing Karakorum reserves the right to restrict or terminate a participant’s involvement if their behavior creates a serious safety concern or significantly disrupts the tour.
15. Environmental Responsibility
We encourage responsible and sustainable travel throughout Pakistan’s mountain regions.
Travelers are expected to:
- Avoid littering.
- Dispose of waste responsibly.
- Respect wildlife and vegetation.
- Minimize unnecessary plastic and waste.
- Follow designated trekking routes.
- Respect local communities and cultural sites.
- Follow responsible trekking and Leave No Trace principles where applicable.
16. Photography & Media
Photographs and videos may be taken during tours, treks, and expeditions.
Where identifiable participant photographs or videos are intended for promotional or marketing purposes, appropriate consent may be requested.
Participants may communicate any concerns regarding the use of their identifiable photographs or videos.
17. Force Majeure
Climbing Karakorum will not be responsible for delays, cancellations, or changes caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
These may include:
- Natural disasters
- Severe weather
- Earthquakes
- Landslides
- Floods
- Government restrictions
- Road closures
- Flight cancellations
- Strikes
- Civil disturbances
- Epidemics or public-health restrictions
- Other unforeseen events
Where possible, we will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements. Any additional costs resulting from such circumstances may be the responsibility of the traveler.
18. Third-Party Services
Some services included in our packages may be provided by independent third-party suppliers, including airlines, hotels, transportation companies, jeep operators, local guides, and other service providers.
Third-party services are subject to the respective provider’s own terms, conditions, schedules, and operational limitations.
19. Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep the information published on the Climbing Karakorum website accurate and up to date.
However, tour itineraries, prices, accommodation, transportation, schedules, photographs, and other details may change due to seasonal conditions, availability, government regulations, or operational requirements.
The services provided will be based on the confirmed booking and agreed package.
20. Personal Belongings
Travelers are responsible for their passports, money, luggage, electronic devices, trekking equipment, and other personal belongings.
Climbing Karakorum is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings unless caused by proven negligence on our part.
21. Changes to These Terms
Climbing Karakorum reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions when necessary.
Any updated version published on this website will apply to future bookings unless otherwise agreed in writing.
22. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a booking request, making a payment, or participating in a Climbing Karakorum tour, trek, or expedition, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
