Biafo & Snow Lake Trek
The Biafo & Snow Lake Trek is one of the most spectacular and challenging trekking adventures in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, taking trekkers deep into the remote wilderness of the Karakoram. The journey follows the magnificent Biafo Glacier toward Snow Lake, a vast high-altitude glacial basin surrounded by towering peaks, dramatic rock walls, and pristine alpine landscapes. This remote trek offers an extraordinary combination of glacier travel, rugged mountain trails, spectacular valleys, and untouched natural beauty. Snow Lake is the highlight of the adventure, where the Biafo and Hispar glaciers meet to create one of the most impressive glacial landscapes in the region. The trek is best suited for experienced trekkers with good physical fitness and endurance, as it involves long walking days, glacier crossings, high altitude, and remote wilderness conditions.
Day 01
Arrival in Islamabad – Airport pickup, hotel transfer and trek briefing.
Day 02
Islamabad → Skardu – Domestic flight to Skardu, subject to weather and flight availability.
Day 03
Skardu – Rest and acclimatization day with trek preparation and local sightseeing.
Day 04
Skardu → Askole – Drive through the Braldu Valley to Askole, the starting point of the trek.
Day 05
Askole → Namla – Begin trekking along the Biafo Glacier toward Namla Camp.
Day 06
Namla → Mango – Continue trekking through the spectacular Biafo Glacier landscape
Day 07
Mango → Baintha – Trek across rugged glacier terrain toward Baintha Camp.
Day 08
Baintha → Marfong Brakk – Continue deeper into the Biafo Glacier toward the high mountain camps.
Day 09
Marfong Brakk → Snow Lake – Trek toward the spectacular Snow Lake glacial basin.
Day 10
Snow Lake Exploration – Explore the breathtaking Snow Lake surroundings and enjoy panoramic views of the Karakoram.
Day 11
Snow Lake → Baintha – Begin the return journey along the Biafo Glacier toward Baintha.
Day 12
Baintha → Mango – Continue descending along the glacier toward Mango Camp.
Day 13
Mango → Namla – Trek back through the Biafo Glacier toward Namla.
Day 14
Namla → Askole – Complete the final trekking section and arrive back at Askole.
Day 15
Askole → Skardu – Drive back to Skardu and relax at the hotel.
Day 16
Skardu → Islamabad – Fly to Islamabad, subject to weather and flight availability.
Day 17
Departure from Islamabad – Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward journey.
