Tirich Valley, a western branch of Turikho Valley, leads to the base of the highest Hindu Kush peaks like Noshaq, Istor-o-Nal, and Tirich Mir. The trek to Tirich Mir Base Camp crosses the Lower Tirich Glacier, so some glacier travel experience is useful. The base camp, called Babu Camp, is named after Babu Mohammad, a veteran guide often found at Chitral’s Mountain Inn. This trek, reminiscent of the Baltoro Glacier route but shorter and less challenging, offers stunning views for lovers of big mountains and glaciers.
